Appointment of Dr. TRK Rao as Director General (Mining)

In terms of GR. No. MNA 0623/C.R.26/Industry-9 dated 12^th December 2023, DR. TRK Rao, IRTS has been appointed as the Director General in the Directorate of Geology and Mining, Nagpur for a period of 3 years. The post is in the rank of Secretary to the Government.

Dr. TRK Rao is a Civil Servant (belonging to 1986 batch of IRTS) and has vast administrative and Mining sector experience in State and Central Government and PSUs.

He has served in the Government of Andra Pradesh as Executive Director in Singareni Collieries Company Limited, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, AP Mineral Development Corporation, Special Secretary Infrastructure & Investment, Government of Andra Pradesh and also severed as Director Finance & Director coal and Commercial in Telangana State Power Generation Corporation Dr. Rao has also worked in Central Government Mining PSU National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) as Director Commercial As an IRTS officer he held several senior level positions in Indian Railways. He was on the board of several Mining & Port companies viz, Trustee Vizagport, Director in Hindustan Sharp yard Ltd., Chairman Bastar Rly.Ltd. and also served as Board of Director in International Mining companies like Legacy Pvt. Ltd. (Austrialia), International Coal ventures Pvt. Ltd. (Mozambique) and has also severed as consultant at the World bank, Washington D.C. He is also nominated as Expert member in the Committee constituted by National Bio Diversity Authority (under MOEF & CC) to review the administative structure of State Biodiversity Boards in India.
